Laser beam fired upon booting up
- Boot up RDWorks and access "vendor settings“(password: rd8888).
- Check the"signal level" set to "low" (as shown). If not, make it so.
If modifying the parameter has failed but the problem persists.
- Open the left glass lid and the bottom cover of the laser power supply (refer to the video).
- Remove the metal plate and access the control box.
- Check whether the L-on terminal on the mainboard is connected to the L terminal on the laser power supply(as shown).
- If the terminals are correctly connected and the problem persists, check the laser signal on the ammeter.
- If the laser signal reads "off", replace the laser power supply with a new, identical one.
- If the laser signal reads "on"
- Measure the voltage between the L-on and GND terminals (as shown). The normal reading is 5V.
- If the voltage reads lower than 5V, replace the main board with a new, identical one. If the voltage reads 5V, replace the laser power supply.
