Laser head not moving along the X-axis after powering on (Y-axis normal)
If the laser head won’t return to its origin along the X-axis after being powered up.
- Remove the glass cover on the left side of the engraver and then remove the metal plate above the mainboard.
- Check whether the LED1 of the mainboard is on.
Under normal circumstances, LED1 will light up after the X-axis has been reset to its origin, go out, then light up again, and finally go out.
- If LED1 stays on all the time, fix the X-axis limit (as shown) by gently tapping it or replacing it.
- If LED1 does not light up, swap the X and Y motor control plugs on the main board.
If the laser head is moving along the X-axis but not along the Y-axis, the mainboard is faulty. Replace it with a new identical one.
If the laser head remains inactive along the X-axis, Remove the bottom plate.
Swap the X motor plug with the Z motor plug on the motor drive board (as shown).
- Power off the engraver.
- Manually move the laser head to the lowest point along the Z-axis by turning the Z-axis screw.
- Turn on the engraver again and check the movement of the laser head along the X-axis and Z-axis.
- If the laser head is moving along the X-axis but not the Z-axis, replace the motor drive board with a new, identical one.
- If the laser head still does not move along the X-axis, replace the X-axis motor with a new, identical one.
