LCD of laser power supply not lit at power on
1. Check that there is power to the socket that has been used by the engraver.
2. Check the fuse in the socket at the rear of the engraver (as shown).
If the fuse and the socket turn out to be functioning, measure the voltage of the contacts in the engraver's socket using a multimeter.
- Remove the right panel of the engraver.
- Flip the rocker switch to on.
- Turn the key switch up front clockwise.
- Set the multimeter to beep. Measure whether contacts 2 and 4 are conductive. If not, replace the key switch with a new, identical one.
- Measure whether contacts 3 and 4 are conductive. If not, replace the rocker switch with a new, identical one (as shown).
If all contacts turn out to be conductive, measure the input voltage of the engraver.
- Remove the power cover of the engraver (see video).
- Set the multimeter to AC voltage and the measurement range greater than 110V.
- Measure the voltage between the red and green wire (as shown).
If the voltage is 110V, it means that the power supply needs to be replaced.
If the voltage is 0, follow these steps to troubleshoot.
- Measure the voltage between 1 and 2 (as shown).
If the voltage turns out to be 0, recheck whether the wall outlet is energized, the continuity of the fuse, the rocker switch, and the key switch.
If the voltage turns out to be normal, check the relay.
- Set the multimeter to AC voltage with a range greater than 110V.
- Measure the input voltage of the relay.
- If the relay input voltage turns out to be 110V, replace the relay with a new, identical one.
- If there is no input voltage to the relay, power off the machine, and set your multimeter’s beeper on if it is not, measure the continuity of the wiring from the relay to the socket at the rear of the engraver to find the location of the circuit break.
