How should I clean the Threaded Rod?
Warning!
- Disconnect the engraver from power before lubricating the threaded rod.
- Do not use abrasive or caustic chemicals.
- While lubricating, check the condition of the rod. See if it is loose, worn, or misaligned. If needed, replace it with an identical one.
Schedule: Monthly/Bi-monthly
Tools Needed:
- Cotton cloth
- Alley keys set
Step 1: Disconnect the engraver from the power source.
Step 2: Use alley keys of the correct size, remove the bolts fastening the height adjustment knob and the top of the support column.
Step 3: Remove the top of the column.
Step 4: Wipe off any debris or grime from the threaded rod.
Step 5: Replace and refasten the top with the bolts.
Step 6: Wind the knob to move the laser head along its full range of motion, distributing the grease along the threaded rod.
